We have done this event two years in a row, and can honestly say that it is unlike anything else you've ever been to. It is an event that begins at 11:30pm and goes until 7am the next morning. So, you will party all night, and make sure you get your rest beforehand to get the most bang for your buck. You are required to wear a costume of the period (1700s) or you will be denied entry. I appreciate that, because it is kind of an ambiance killer if people are not dressed properly. The cool part about this event is that it is super modern outside of the costumes and the architecture. The decoration, music, and overall set-up of the party has a VIP club-like-feel and usually has a special theme. The first year we went, the theme was Alice in Wonderland. So you have dancers and actors interacting with the crowd all night long. They also put on live musical performances by local artists and have a DJ playing in between so you can dance. To buy drinks and food you need to buy tokens at the entrance which you can use throughout the night. There are two parts of the venue - indoor and outdoor. Indoors is the stage for the performances, the bar, and dance floor. Outdoors in the orangerie, there is the beautiful garden, food stands, and large fire pit.
